Digital Crane Scales
Remote crane load pin displays are often wired with a long cable or use simple one-way wireless systems.
The Problem:
Wired displays have long cables which can easily get tangled or damaged. One- way wireless solutions are often limited on battery life because of the need to physically switch on the remote pin for the whole shift and often needing to be brought down for re-charge when not in use.
The Solution:
A T24-SA telemetry strain gauge acquisition module incorporated into a shackle transmits weight data to a T24-HS handheld reader on demand. The T24-SA is powered by a pair of alkaline AA cells and owing to its low power mode, the batteries will last one-and-a-half years when operated for 6 x 10-minute sessions per day. The T24-HS handheld device, using its two-way radio, wakes and sleeps the acquisition module as required and delivers new readings at a rate of three per second. The handheld features a Gross/Zero function on the user-friendly two button tactile keypad which has been designed for harsh physical and electrical environments.
